Experience has taught me the things that come into factor when deciding on colours
Clients likes and tastes
The lighting in the room
What the room is used for
Features of the room ie furniture, curtains etc
The next few photos show the process how changing colours can change the look and feel of the room.
This first pic is what it previously looked like. The home was a rental and given a much needed face lift. I'm using the master bedroom as a good example.

Before interior painting the room was dominated with the timber ceiling skirtings and windows. The ceiling made the room feel closed and cold even though it was a big room

Now we see a complete transformation from dark hard lines to soft lighting and warmth.

The finished result transformed into a warm inviting bedroom
With the ceiling painted white made the room look stunning! The feature of the room is the fire place. With new carpet and blinds gave this room a new lease on life.
So today's tip for painting interior work is do some homework on what you want for a room.
Have a look at colours you like from test pots and be sure to look at different times of the day to get a good indication of what the colour looks like in different lighting conditions. Have a look at night with artificial light as well, the difference between the two can be huge.
Until next time happy painting!
